Haiku #35

Shakespeare's audiences snacked
on oysters, sturgeon, steaks and pies
while bantering Sir Toby Belch.

After the 12th Night
of drinking and loud belching
I snack on your poems.

Sometimes, I think to
myself, what hubris I have
to Haiku like you.

Your audiences keep up to date with the news through reading your haiku, Dave - there's a haiku there somewhere but not sure where.

Reading your daily blog
keeps me abreast of affairs
without watching boring TV.

Sorry - not very good Dave

Weaver - Don't be so hard on yourself. It's brilliant. I think it would be great if everyone responded to Dave's Haiku with Haiku of their own, but then, I'm a control freak.

I don't suppose I could hire you to ghost write them, could I? Superb.

Weaver
On the contrary, very good - but what is it about T.V. news? They seem able to make the most dramatic of items totally boring.

Kass again: I'm for that! Brilliant idea.

Carl
Great - I feel we're getting into the swim of things, now!

Ronda
We aim to please.

Enchanted Oak
I do like the idea of an edible thought!

Mariana
Thanks for that.

Raj
I'm up for that, also!

Thinks:- would 'hectoring' be better than 'bantering'? I think that's what audiences used to do...

while feeding the cats this morning I came up with this one..

Like sharks circling
a boat on open water
my cats await food....

wow, they ate well...

Hi Dave,

Shakespearean audiences
reflected social mores.
We do likewise.

Don't know. I started with hectoring and then changed it. I think they're as broad as they are long. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Carl
excellent. I really like that one.

Shadow
Yeah!

Derrick
Socially very apt. That one could grow into something more - if you'll forgive the pun, which was half-intended!.
