Pedestrian crossing
(all the time!) - an OAP,
his traffic protest.

A quiet protest. A concise protest. A haiku of a protest.

An OAP could get beat up (it happened in Romania) for protesting too slowly.

Wow, this stirred up more than I'd expected. I thought it would be a quiet haiku.
The news item had significance for me because my late dad took part in a similar protest to have a pedestrian crossing installed outside the care home in which he spent his last years. It was a very bust main road, on the other side of which was a very nice park, and the old folk crossed and recrossed the road endlessly, holding up the traffic. The police and even the mayor attended. (The protest worked: they got their crossing.)
